Wario World

Wario World (ワリオワールド, Wario Wārudo) est un jeu vidéo de plateforme et de beat 'em up sorti en 2003, développé par Treasure et publié par Nintendo pour la GameCube. Il a été lancé en Europe le 20 juin 2003, puis plus tard en Amérique du Nord, en Australie et au Japon. L'intrigue du jeu se concentre sur Wario et sa quête pour récupérer son trésor et son château, qui ont été volés par Black Jewel, une gemme maléfique. Le jeu a été plutôt bien accueilli par les critiques, qui ont loué son gameplay amusant tout en critiquant sa courte durée. Le jeu s'est vendu à plus de 142 000 exemplaires au Japon et à plus de 256 000 exemplaires aux États-Unis. En 2004, le jeu a été réédité en tant que titre Player's Choice.

Wario World is a beat-em-up platformer starring the greedy antihero Wario, who has finally built himself a grand castle stuffed with all the treasure he has plundered over his many adventures. His contentment is short-lived. Hidden deep within his glittering hoard lies an evil, sentient gem known as the Black Jewel, which suddenly awakens and seizes control of the castle. With a surge of dark power, the Black Jewel corrupts Wario's beloved treasures, twisting them into monstrous enemies, and warps the castle itself into four sprawling worlds teeming with danger. Furious at the theft of his riches, Wario storms into these transformed realms to take back what is his. As he punches, piledrives, and hurls his way through hordes of foes, he also works to free the Spritelings, tiny creatures who long ago sealed the Black Jewel away, in his rampaging quest to reclaim both his fortune and his home.
